Why 8th Grade Pictures are So Important

Moms of tweens: Do you remember being 14? The awkwardness. The insecurities. The trying to fit in. Even once-confident kids may experience a severe drop in self-esteem in the junior high school years. Your 8th grade daughter will compare herself to her peers, and she may decide that she just doesn't measure up to others whom she believes to be smarter, prettier and more popular. Your 8th grade son may feel he's too short, or too thin, or not athletic enough, or not included in all the current group chats. It's difficult to watch a child deal with self-esteem issues, especially when you know how perfect and wonderful they really are.

8th grade pictures are a chance to capture them at this important stage in their life. To show them how perfect and how amazing and how unique and how beautiful they are. Right now. Just as they are.

This is why I love to photograph 8th graders. I love to capture their true beauty. I love to capture their personality. I love to see the expression on their faces when they see how truly beautiful and unique they really are. As they begin to bridge that gap between childhood exploration and awkwardness, halfway to an adult, but with the memories of being a child still fresh and vivid.

Don't miss this precious and important time in your 8th grade child's life. In only a few months they'll be at a new (bigger) school, with new friends, new experiences, a job, a driver's license. It is in these tween years that so many important decisions are made that help mold the adult into existence.

An 8th grade portrait session is only $95 for the session, and that entire amount is then applied to any digital image or print package you wish to purchase. Sessions can be scheduled with one or two friends, if you wish (although each 8th grader will be photographed individually, we can certainly make time for some best friends shots as well) and are held on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings beginning about an hour before sunset at your choice of a wide selection of locations around the Pekin area.

Have you noticed that somewhere along the line your family pictures stopped happening as often and the professional pictures of your children have huge gaps?

I hope you'll get in touch with me to schedule your 8th graders portrait session today.
